HP Omni 200-5310IN All-in-One Desktop Offers TV Functionality

HP India has introduced today a range of All-in-One desktop PCs under the HP Omni 200 and HP Omni 100 names. Part of the new series, the HP Omni 200-5310IN is a desktop PC with Full TV and Full PC functionality. It has integrated the traditional PC tower and monitor into one sleek design, a package free of wires and clutter. So it can be a TV in your kid's room and also be a fully functional PC for your computing needs. Prices start from Rs. 27,030 excluding taxes.

The PC configuration includes an Intel dual-core processor, 2GB RAM, 500GB hard disk drive, DVD drive, Wireless LAN, inbuilt webcam, mic, speakers, USB ports, a standard keyboard, optical mouse and Windows 7 Home Premium edition (64 bit). Display consists of a 21.5-inch Full-HD widescreen with LED backlight, which can swivel from side to side.

The TV side of the experience offers inbuilt speakers, an inbuilt TV tuner card including remote control, and Windows 7 Home Premium with Media Center for live TV viewing/recording.

Motorola Xoom To Get Android 3.1 Update Today

If reports are to be believed, Motorola's flagship Android tablet-Xoom users in India will get the Android 3.1 update over-the-air today.

In order to get the update you need to "Settings > About Tablet > System Updates" to manually update the firmware which is a 40MB download. However, you need to keep in mind that the over-the-air update is not provided by service providers and therefore you need to update it manually through Motorola’s website.

Here are some of the major changes you can expect with the update:

SD card support: Now you can expand the storage memory of your Motorola Xoom up to 64GB by inserting a 32GB SD card because the update activates the memory card slot.

Connect different input devices: Connect a keyboard, mouse PC joystick or a gamepad using Bluetooth or the USB slot.

Transfer pictures from a camera on-the-fly: You can also plug in your digital camera and transfer images to the Xoom without any hassles.

Wi-Fi lock: A high-performance Wi-Fi lock will let your applications maintain high-performance WiFi connections even when the device screen is off.

Flash Player and File Manager: The update also promises to bring Adobe Flash Player and a file manager to the Xoom.

Other Additions: Improved multi-tasking, providing instant visual access to a large number of applications as well as resizable home screen widgets for Gmail, Calendar and Browser.

Samsung Galaxy R to be Launched Soon

According to The Mobile Indian, Samsung has plans to release the Galaxy R which is similar to the Galaxy S2.The Galaxy R features a design that is very similar Galaxy S2 with a slightly smaller 4.2-inch screen. Also the Galaxy R doesn’t have an AMOLED display rather it makes do with Super LCD like the one on the Galaxy i9003.

The phone runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) out of the box. It features a Cortex A9 dual core processor running at 1GHz along with an Nvidia Geforce gaming processor. It has 8GB of internal storage and is expandable up to 32GB with the help of microSD cards. The Galaxy R has a 5MP rear camera with a power LED flash and it is capable of recording 720p videos at 30fps. It has a 1.3MP front camera as well.

Blackberry Bold 9900 to Release in India in August

RIM has confirmed that it will be launching their latest smartphone Blackberry Bold 9900 by the end of August in India.

The Bold 9900 has a 2.8-inch VGA capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 640 x 480 and 287ppi. The device is powered with BlackBerry OS 7, which is the latest version of the RIM's proprietary OS. At 10.5mm, the Bold 9900 is RIM’s thinnest smartphone yet.

The Bold 9900 will also have the famous QWERTY keypad that RIM's Blackberry handsets are known for. Apart from that it will also feature a 5MP camera and 8GB of internal storage.

The Blackberry Bold 9900 is expected to be priced around Rs. 32, 500 which is a little expensive.

Sony Playstation Vita Scheduled For October Release?

According to a report by IGN, Sony's latest Portable gaming console-Playstation Vita may hit stores by October 28^th. One of IGN's readers sent a flier from Blockbuster U.K which has listed that Vita is expected to hit UK stores on October 28^th. The Wi-Fi only is rumored to retail for USD 378 (approx. Rs. 16,750) and 3G version is priced at USD 460 (approx. Rs. 20,500).

The authenticity of the advertisement is yet to be verified and to add to that Sony hasn't confirmed the release date. But we know that Sony will be releasing the Playstation Vita in phases. UK will be the first country to get the Vita.
