ASUS Launches New X101 Netbook


eeepc-2_179At a recently held press conference, Asus unveiled its Eee PC X101. The netbook runs on Intel's MeeGo operating system, and is powered by the Intel Atom N455 processor. The X101 features a 10.1-inch LED-backlit features a chiclet keyboard and comes enabled with Bluetooth 3.0 and has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n for wireless connectivity. The netbook also features the Super Hybrid Engine (SHE), which is Asus's power optimization technology that is said to optimize system performance and battery life. The X101 is preloaded with Cloud Storage (Dropbox) allowing the user the ability to access and edit and sync files via cloud with other devices. The X101H-BLACK0338 comes with a 250 GB HDD drive, 1 GB DDR3 RAM, 0.3 MP camera and a one year global warranty. Measuring 17.6 mm in thickness, and weighing around 1kg, the netbook will come in 4 colours. Asus officials also said that the SSD version of this netbook would also be released in the near future.
Mr Alex Hunag, Country Head, Asus Technology India, was quoted in the press release as saying, "The new design and style of the light weight ASUS X101 Super Thin Netbook will definitely enhance the customer experience. We have also integrated the consumer's productive needs with his lifestyle requirements to enrich our customers' experience. I am sure the sure this new offering will bring in substantial traction."
Unaez Quraishi Distribution Director, System Business Group, Asus India spoke of how the X101 serves as a third option for users to consider, in addition to tablets and notebooks, when buying a portable device.
The Asus X101 netbook comes for Rs. 12,499/-.
