Is Android Jellybean OS Ice Cream Sandwich's Successor?

If internet rumours are to be believed, then the next Google created Android operating system (successor to Ice Cream Sandwich) for smartphones and tablets is going to be named 'Jellybean'. Some rumours also suggest that major features of Ice Cream Sandwich are being rolled back for Jellybean.

android_jellybean_179Details about the new OS are not available as of now and there is no confirmation from Google. If you should know Google names versions of its Android OS after sweets and they have been in alphabetical order till now. The versions were Cupcake, Donut, Éclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich and now Jellybean.
Ice Cream Sandwich is expected to launch in October or November. The new OS is expected to combine the best of Honeycomb and Gingerbread and release a single package for all smartphones and tablets. As of now only the Nexus S Prime (rumoured to be manufactured by Samsung) is confirmed to come with the Ice Cream Sandwich OS pre-installed.
